Murphy meets BIM Certification

Murphy was awarded Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 certification at Digital Construction Week, held at the ExCel London, last week.

The upgrade in Murphy's BIM system highlights the company's intent to continuously improve its business processes and marks another significant step in achieving tier 1 status, as part of its ten-year plan.

Alex Jones, group head of BIM and digital construction, said: “BIM is a key vehicle for delivering best value to our customers and underpins our broader digital construction strategy. Certification means that our policy, tools, training and procedures comply with recognised BIM standards, and that we can deliver comfortably in a BIM Level 2 environment. This will strengthen our bids and reassure our customers of both our ability and intent to deliver digital excellence.”

Steve Hollingshead, CEO, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve achieved this certification as it clearly demonstrates we are maturing in line with our ten-year plan. As we continue to deliver world-class infrastructure, this shows we have the right skills to meet the growing digital demands of our customers.”

Paul Oakley, BRE group director for BIM, said: “Congratulations to Murphy. BIM certification will further enhance its reputation for continuous improvement in operational processes with the philosophy of improving life by delivering world class infrastructure.”
