Harefield to Southall Gas Pipeline

Description of Works

Design and construction of 18km x 1220mm dia gas pipeline and connection into the existing network within existing installations at both Harefield and Southall.

Construction was in a substantially urban environment requiring over 2.3km to be constructed in four tunnels. In addition there were a further 10 pipejack crossings and 18 auger bored crossings to take the pipeline under major arterial roads, railways (including London Underground), water courses and the Grand Union Canal.

Stakeholder management was a key to the success of the project.
