Our Group philosophy is to rely on our own highly skilled personnel but, at the local level, we hire subcontractors occasionally to satisfy practical objectives. The subcontractors work alongside our skilled staff.
Training requirements are assessed annually or on the commencement of employment and programmes based on project skill requirements are developed. The majority of training takes place within our own training schools. This is one reason why many employees have remained with the company for 25 years or longer.
The company owns, manages and maintains a substantial holding of transport, specialist plant and equipment valued at in excess of £48 Million. This capital investment supports our activities and ensures the company has the flexibility to respond to customer needs. Trained Murphy personnel ensure that these resources are repaired, serviced and meet statutory inspection requirements at dedicated facilities located at all regional offices as well as on site. This policy protects customersí interests by ensuring equipment is always in a safe operational state and minimises the cost and disruption of having to hire plant from third parties.
